Simon Duncan
Simon Duncan was destined to be a Fitness & Martial Arts Instructor having been involved in sport from a young age. From 6 to 16 he played soccer & represented Brisbane at the State Championships 3 years in row. He was also the standout performer in high school for both athletics & swimming.
After high school Simon started going to the Gym but it wasn’t providing enough mental stimulation. His best mate Craig encouraged him to start up Taekwondo & as they say “the rest is history”. Since his commencement in 1995 (that’s 30 years +) he has reached the level 5th Dan Black Belt.
In 2002, soon after achieving his Black Belt (1 st Dan), Simon began teaching Taekwondo & is still teaching today. In 2017, Simon started up Hapkido which he considers the perfect compliment to Taekwondo. In 2020 he obtained his Black Belt (1st Dan) & in 2024 progressed further to 2nd Dan.
In 2017, Simon got qualified to teach Tai Chi. Tai Chi is classified as a martial art but it is
more of an “internal art”. No contact & no stress on the body compared to all other styles of Martial Arts. Simon teaches “Tai Chi for Health” programs under the Paul Lam system (Tai Chi for Health Institute).
Simon knows to be a good teacher you must be a good role model. Simon is now in his late 40’s & is in superior physical condition. He teaches 3-5 classes per day, is a keen surfer, and maintains his own training. Simon is continually training, studying and learning to further his knowledge & provide his clients/students with the safest, latest & most effective exercises. Simon has the ability to teach people from 4 years old to 94. Simon has a wealth of knowledge & experience to say the least.
“Simon Say’s” the secret to maintaining a busy schedule without burning out is getting the balance right. Work hard but work smart & ensure your exercise program is balanced & complimented with good nutrition & quality rest. This was vision behind his Fitness business Best Balance Health & Fitness which has been “going strong” since 2008. He also has qualifications to teach Older Adults, Aqua Aerobics, Yoga & Pilates.

Isaac Yeoh
I started practicing WTF Taekwondo in 2014 as part of my high school’s recreational sports program and found that I loved it. After high school, I continued to train under GM John Gill and achieved 2nd Dan black belt.
I also began to study Hapkido with the AHF in 2015, and obtained 1st Dan in 2024. Master Jim Chappell was my main Instructor during this time. I now co-teach Hapkido with Simon at Gordon.
In 2018 I transferred over to ITF style of Taekwondo.
I’ve felt that Taekwondo has helped me in more ways than just learning self-defence. It has helped me to stay in shape, focus better, hone my self-discipline, and improve my confidence. It has also provided me with the opportunity to grow by challenging myself, subsequently becoming a certified instructor. I love to give back and see students grow, overcome challenges, learn life skills and expand their mental and physical capacity.
